The Black Hills Storm

This is Crazy Horse monument, as we drove towards our camp for the night. If you click on the picture you can see it better. They are faaar from done. See! Blue sky and a cloud on the horizon. But,...
Down it came! It was a down pour with hail
mixed in. I love a good storm! It was fascinating
to be in and watch.

Campground turned lake.

Our cabin for the night. Didn't use the bikes much on this night.

On our walk after the storm.
See the tenters in the distance? There was a HUGE puddle in front of their tent. They were just emerging as we went by, parents and two young children. I said, "Wow! They brought you a fishing hole, with front door service!" The dad said, "Uh, yea." They had biked this trail from Custer (where they live) to Hill City, just for a family camp out. "We kinda wish we'd brought over the car now." ;o)

I want to go back someday to ride this trail. It's like a 100-mile bike trail with a bunch of bridges and tunnels. They upgraded an old railroad track into a trail.

Seriously. Water, water everywhere.
